Our Beliefs

The Lynden American Reformed Church is a congregation that has a vibrant church life. We are focused on serving the Lord with a committed, enthusiastic faith, being devoted to one another in brotherly love and honoring one another above ourselves, while keeping our spiritual fervor and serving the Lord.

Our Sin

Our first parents, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God. They chose to disobey Him by eating fruit of the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden. But God did not abandon His people. In His mercy, He promised to look after them forever if they would obey Him. However, God’s people could not obey Him perfectly. We too share in this rebellion. The Bible says that each one of us is corrupt; we are unable to seek God or please Him on our own.
“As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.” Romans 3:10-11

Our Salvation

The good news is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. He was able to obey God perfectly and He fulfilled all of God’s requirements. If we confess to God our rebellion and sin and believe in Jesus, we can look forward to a renewed relationship with God, one that will last forever.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Our Service

In thankfulness to God we are to live lives that are pleasing to Him according to the instructions found in His Word, the Bible. Our purpose is to honour and glorify God, not only through our worship services but also through the way we live our lives each day. God has given us the Holy Spirit who lives in all believers to help us know how to live for Him.
“Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God,- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is,- His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
